Discount for South Africans, Children & Pensioners PDF Print E-mail

As we celebrated one of the very few locals who will be joining us on the 5th March, we once again questioned why so few South African's join their family and friends on a visit to Soweto.

For years my visitors would have heard me offering many different reasons for why they did not join us on a visit to Soweto, yet yesterday for the first time I focused on why I do not use many of the tourist venues, and I believe my answer to myself would influence many of the locals avoidance to visit Soweto.

"All tour operators charge the internationals because they can afford it." We tend to believe that all international visitors are overcharged because the exchange rate makes it cheap for the international visitor.

Till today it was never my thinking when pricing for the international visitor, but I do look at tour products through 'these eyes', so a 'Taste of Africa' introduces a local South African, and pensioner, discounts, from today.

Local Discount on Taste of Africa tours:  (For home-stay accommodation we would need to negotiate with owner).

1:   One South African in the company of their international visitor, 25%. discount.

2:   One South African,               20% discount.

      Two South Africans,             25% discount.

      Three South Africans,            30% discount.

Four & more South Africans,  35% discount.

South African pensioners qualify for an additional 10% discount on the above.

International pensioners qualify for a 10% discount on the normal rates.

The onus is on the pensior to request the discount.

Children Discount:

We understand the pressures of both locals and international visitors who are visiting as a family. On two occassions that we have hosted families, we have been asked whether we offer discounts to children. Our answer is no, our guides must give your children more attention than they give you.

We do however offer two children, combined age of 20 years and less, who are visiting one of our local Johannesburg or Soweto visits, a discount for one of the parents, provided they bring both parents with. So, one of your parents will be free, if you bring both with you.

Dear International visitor, please invite your family and friends to join you in Soweto.
