We link these two experiences and even though you may not be as spiritual as a few of our visitors, this is an experience you will always remember.

Brief descriptions:

We depart Melville / Soweto at 06:00 in the morning, travelling via Vryburg and will stop for an early lunch, not included, so that we can reach the Credo Mutwa Hospice by early afternoon.

We settle into the 'village accommodation' at the hospice, and ours session with Credo Mutwa will commence during the late afternoon.

Credo Mutwa session:

Credo Mutwa the great African Shaman, is one of the wisest men I have ever met. He will answer all your questions about life, about medicine, plants, spiritual issues, people.

You need to prepare, if you are going to do two sessions, as a group decide on which subject you wish to cover suring which session, and prepare your questions.

You do not ant to be caught wanting, when the great Shaman asks, "Any questions?"

Virginia and her family are great cooks, and the supper is typical South African / Afrikaner meals.

On the day of departure we leave early, stopping for a quick breakfact en route as the trip to the caves is a long one.

Fertility Caves:

The sourrounds and the setting are an extension of the Goldn Gate area, we need to hike 30 minues from the parking to caves, and should we spend 2 nights, the full day can be spent hiking and swimming in the river.

Life in the Caves:

Few places in the world you will share the culture and tradion, the sacraficing, the celebrations, the drumming and the chanting that you will experiece in the caves, while sleeping and eating as a local.

Elke's group insists on being here over a week-end, when the traffic, activity and noise is greatest, for the not so spiritual we prefer a md-week visit, where you will get a taste, and enjoy relative peace.

Return home:

Golden Gate National Park:

We enjoy the beauty of the Golden Gate National Park, mainly as direct access to the caves could be difficult lat afternoon.

If we are spending 2 nights in the caves, then we can afford a visit to Clarens, en route to the caves, lunch excluded.
