Our 'Soweto by night' is not the typical shebeen tour, we focus on getting close to the people. We will visit a traditional shebeen for a Sundowner, and walk the streets, visiting the guide and her family / friends at home, and eating very local. Walking through Soweto adds to the magic and keeps you in the vibe of the community around you. Depending on the size of the group, your specific interest, we will then move into an area where we can walk, while experiencing the neighbourhood, drinking a beer, listening to the music, talking to the people, dancing with the people.

We promise is that we visit the locals; this is not up-market, touristy.
Maybe, the 24 hours in Soweto is the answer.
We have no fixed route or venue that we follow during the evening.
This is mainly due to the fact that Soweto can be quite from Mon. to Thur.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are a different story, the magic flows.
If possible we would like to commence ex-Melville at 17:00, arrival in Soweto at 17:40, permitting us to start the evening at Joyce’s Place, a shebeen situated in the heart of the Baragwanath Taxi Rank. The volume of commuters passing through the rank every day, ensures a mix of patrons from all walks of life from the doctor and lawyer to the un-employed.
Experiencing the sun setting, while having a sun-downer in this shebeen is an experience you will never forget.

Most eating facilities, outside of the tourist route, would not be providing food unless it was pre-arranged. Food is therefore excluded from the price in order that we may cater for your specific needs.

As a guest of the community, you set the pace, we suggest that we do not necessarily leave a venue after a short stop, this does not allow you to even get talking to the local community, dancing will also not start till the local vibe is moving.

We are flexible with regard to the time we end at night, we do not want our guests to leave Soweto, and overnight accommodation is always available. 22:00 is my preferred end to the evening, but provided we give the guide and driver consideration, while you are enjoying we will adjust.
If you wish to stay all night, visit the 24 hours in Soweto or the home-stay options in Soweto.
