DAY 1;  Leave Johannesburg @ 06:00, travel via Panaroma Route, - Pilgrims Rest, Graskop, The Pinnacle, God's             Window, Three Rondawes, arriving at Shangaan Village outside Orpen Gate, at 17:00

DAY 2;  Enter Kruger Park at Orpen, drive through the Park to Punda Maria, 300km, arrive at 16:00. Night                       Drive with Kruger Vehicle and Guide, late night supper and Accomodation in Shangaan Village.

Day 3;  Enter Kruger Park at Punda Maria, drive through the Park via Crook's Corner, Pafuri Picnic site, and exit               Pafuri gate at 12:00. Drive through Capricorn Route, visiting 'Big Tree' to overnight in Venda Village.

Day 4;  Leave 07:00 and drive via Capricorn Route, arriving in Johannesburg 15:00 to 17:00.

Taste Africa by becoming a Shangaan/Venda family member, while visiting the magic of the Kruger Park. Your Shangaan family will host you while you are not in the Park, doting on you, and caring and feeding you, as part of their family.  Make friends with the Village community while you experience the 'Big5'.

Brief Description:

a Taste of Africa have developed their products around their staff, learning from their culture and daily routines.

Although we cater for groups of 12, we do make arrangements for groups of 20. Should you have a need for a greater number, we will make special provision. Our aim is to provide personal service, and it is lost if we extend our numbers.

Day 1;

We leave Melville, Jhb Central, and Soweto from 05:30 in the morning to avoid the traffic that would add a few hours to the trip.  (Lunch not included).

A Soweto Home-stay the night before we leave will just prepare us for the magic that we are going to experience in the Village. Note, a 50% discount on 24 Hours in Soweto is linked to this experience.

Day 1; we travel the Panorama Route, passing Pilgrims Rest, Graskop, The Pinnacle, God's Window, Three Rondawels.

Arrival at the Village is approx 17:00 and the first hour is devoted to the Village Introduction, your family, their facilities.

Shangaan Village accommodation and supper under the stars is weather permits.

Day 2;

We leave the Village by 06:30 and enter the Kruger Park at the Orpen gate, 10km away. 

We drive the 300km from Orpen to Punda Maria, having a Picnic Lunch at one of the Picnic / Camp sites.

We arrive at Punda Maria approx 17:00 to give us some time to settle in and rest before the Night Drive with the Kruger Park vehicle and guide, approx 19:00.

Shangaan Village accommodation and late supper, 21:00, under the stars.

Day 3:

We enter the Park at Punda Maria, and travel to Crook's Corner, the most North East corner, of the park, where the Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South African borders meet.

This area is a birdwatchers paradise.

An early Picnic lunch at the Pafuri picnic site, probably the most beautiful of all the Picnic sites.

We leave the Kruger at 12:00, and travel through some of the least populated areas in our country, passing the Big Tree, a Baobab Tree, 3502 years old, 43m in circum, and 26 m high.

Arrive at the Venda Village at 16:00 for accommodation and supper in the community. 

DAY 4;

Here we travel from the Venda Village, home to Rebecca, one of the foremost Venda artists, and visit the other artists on the route.

Enjoy the beauty of the Capricorn Route, while we visit the artists, en route to Johannesburg.

Enjoy you village experience to the full, depending on the composition of the group, we will arrange for joint participation with the group and the village families for entertainment, or as the Villagers will refer to it, 'celebrating'.

We have made provision for a final early morning Game Drive with the Kruger Park vehicle, or alternately, an earlier departure to view more of Panorama or Capricorn.

On our final morning, we will depart approx 10:00, it is often difficult to get the good-byes over quickly.
